Life being a serious business needs a balance. Thus, we balance seriousness with fun. And each moment whether serious or fun, is worth remembering. People try to have fun and always try to capture the moments either with videos or with the use of camera. In olden times, by portrait commissioning.
To capture the essence of a person by way of drawing may be difficult to others, may be easy to some. Some would take the painstaking way of drawing the exact likeness in all seriousness. Others would do it with exaggeration or distortion but still create an easily identifiable visual likeness. This is called Caricature.
I got a call one day from my friend asking my permission to use me as one of his models for his new website project. He wanted to make a caricature of me. I was a little anxious to see what I would look like in a cartoony kind of drawing, so I said OK. It should be fun. It took him only a little time and I got my caricature in a flash. I guessed he already made it prior to asking my permission. LOL!
So here it is - a caricature of my self. And I was happy to have it.
It doesn’t have to be you. It could be your friend you wanted to present with this kind of gift. Or, any of your loved ones. It sure is a fun way of giving or sending a gift. Or simply have yourself a wacky drawing of YOU. Please check out my friend’s website if you are interested. Click here for more information.
